The Egyptian Angels Investors Association “Malaikah”, held an open discussion and meeting today highlighting the topic of DeepTech in Egypt, the event delved into the topic over two interactive sessions, the first discussed “Investors view on deeptech startups in Egypt”. Panelists shared their views, professional insights and expertise about the concept, the opportunities and potential for growth in Egypt and the challenges facing the sector.
Panelists were Mr. Hesham Wahby, Managing Partner, Cultiv Ventures, Mr. Waleed Khalil, Managing Partner, Den VC, Mr. Omar Sakr, Founder & CEO, Nawah Scientific and Mr. Moataz Kotb, Managing Director, CultArk who moderated the session.
The second session discussed the topic of “Academia’s view on developing deeptech in Egypt” the panelists were Dr. Alaa-Eldin Adris, VP innovation & professor of management of technology, Nile University, Dr. Amr El Awamry, Executive Manager, Benha University Biotechnology Incubator and Dr. Marianne Azer, professor at Nile University and Former Member of the Parliament who moderated the session.
